MDF / HDF boards

Product description

MDF / HDF boards: Medium-density fibreboards (MDF) and high-density fibreboards (HDF) are made of wood fibres, mainly from bark-free softwood, impregnated with glue and pressed under pressure and heat in a dry process. The gentle pressing process makes it possible to produce a wood-based material that is equally homogeneous in the longitudinal and transverse directions.

At 550 and 800 kg/m³, the density of MDF boards lies between sawn timber and wet fibre boards; HDF boards are particularly highly compressed (over 800 kg/m³). The edges are smooth and firm and can be profiled without special gluing. As no water is pressed off, the undersides do not reveal any sieve marks: dry-pressed boards are available smooth or sanded on both sides. MDF and HDF boards have a particularly high-quality appearance.
